The Compost Garden

by Elizabeth Thompson (Age: 65)
copyright 10-05-2005

Age Rating: 16 +

In the silent, in the dark,
Compost growing 'round my heart.
All the hurt and doubt and fears
Watered with my flowing tears.
Years and years of fertilizer
That is what is goin' on inside her!
When the sunshine finally glows
Come to see what compost grows!

Bushels of flowers, scented sweet,
Growing 'round and 'round my feet.
Tulips, carnations roses with thorns
Pansies, daisies, all to adorn
Future night and future days
Guess my life will be OK.
