Procrastination

by David Pekrul
copyright 12-23-2005

Age Rating: 10 +

Procrastination, whatís the rush?
Iíll do it some day without fuss,
But until then Iíll take my time,
And maybe have a glass of wine.

Why do it now, when I can wait?
Iíll get it done before itís late,
I work much better under stress,
(But thatís not true, I must confess).

To be on time is not my thing,
For Iím ďProcrastination KingĒ,
But one day, be it late or soon,
Iíll sing a very different tune.

Iíll be on time and get it done,
(Though it wonít be a lot of fun),
Iíll be responsible, youíll see,
And youíll be very proud of me.

But until then Iíll take my time,
(Now where is that third glass of wine?),
They say tomorrow never comes,
So maybe then I will succumb.

David,
When your not busy being serious--you're a very funny guy.I'm also a procrastinator and I loved the humor.
It was also a nice smooth write,

Rich

Ahahahaha, this is so my theme poem... minus the 'King' part, I would think I'm a queen, but who knows.... I love this, and it is so true as well. Awesome poem!

You rang some bells with this one David. I never realised that someone was after my title.
It definitely brought a smile to my face. You do have a way with words.
Thanks for cheering me up. I played lousy today.
Brian.
