The moon dances in shadows and light,
Across a damp midsummer night,
And angel passes over the hills,
In a skirt of green grass,
And white daffodils,
Her white wings tinted with hues of bright red,
She soars like the wind toward a path up ahead,
Quickly she fades,
The fairies take over,
The lush pregnant glades,
And fields of thick clover,
Their wee voices moan,
Like the mummer of crickets,
OR the love song,
Of doves in the thickets,
The music doth stream,
From out of the wild,
To enter the dream,
Of a sleeping child.
