Sitting just outside the reach of Summer's sun

I feel it's effect on everything around me still

The air is warmed and the breeze gentle

The sun does what it does and always will
It doesn't need me to acknowledge it's existence

or appreciatively say, "Job well done!"

Content just to be, it works tirelessly

to generously shed it's light on everyone
What a testimony to the creator who made it

Doesn't it reflect Jehovah's giving to a "T"

Nonjudgmental, no bargains need to be made

For God's love is seen in everything by me
Happy trees dance before me, joyful and carefree

waving eager leaves, beckoning me to partake

Shimmering in the sweet music of Summer

All this for my senses not by chance or mistake
Birds carried along in the strong yet gentle breeze

waves giggling as they tumble to the shore, and

Innocent children's laughter echoes

As if to say, "One day, pain will be no more!"
Giggles from their belly make me smile as well

and deeply as I inhale, I can't breathe it all in

For the wonder of God is much too much and I see

All I can do is thank Jehovah and grin
I think of the wonders my own life has seen

the miracles he's blessed me with in my time

And search as I may, I'll never find the words

to express the depth of my gratitude in rhyme
So every time the season's change

and every time his creation shouts his praise

I'm more determined than ever before

to do the same with every one of my God given days!

Mary, what a wonderful tribute to God and the seasons He's made for each of us. The year's 4 seasons, and the continuing seasons of life's journeys; the good of friends and loved ones, the bad of circumstances we can't control, the ugly of hatred and scorn, and the redemptive powers of God's refuge and strength.

Your poem made my day.

~awe-inspiring. ~most inspirational, and beautifully written as are all your poems. It's good to read you once again.
Your poetry always put peace in my heart and a smile on my face.

Keep 'em comin',

Rich

There... better age setting? :-)

Would that we all had this level of peace and understanding. Not only of ourselves and the world and heavens around us, but also us within that world.

The age might be a bit low. o_O;;

This is a very nice write, Mary. ^^

Frank :)
