Free Falling

by Diana Johnson (Age: 56)

Age Rating: 7 +

Precariously I perch
On the edge of my vision,

Preparing to fly,

Fear clouds
My perfect intuition,

Leaving me dry,

Internally my battle
Rages on,

Faith not fear,

Artificial torment
Flames so hot,

It chills my steamy tears,

Stepping off the cliff
No longer looking down,

I float warmly through the light,

Freedom is truly free,
It was never a cost to me,

My senses take flight,

Opening my arms
I free-fall through the dusk,

Reaching past the elusive stars,

I'm glowing with delight
Alive, alive, one more glorious night.
