The Sun said to the Moon as it sunk down from the sky,
“Why do you love the dark, not the daylight like I?”
“I have befriended each star and silence never gives me a fright”,
The moon replied quietly, staring at Earth’s beautiful sight.
“But don’t you like noise, seeing fun and play?”
Asked the Sun to the Moon, wondering what he would say
But to Sun’s love for noise Moon did not agree
He said, “A place with no noise is the place for me.”
“Oh, Moon, you are too different from me…
If you come with me in the morn, you’ll see what I see!”
But the moon did not want to see into the day
“I love to light the dark, so here I shall stay.”
So the Sun gave up and said, “Moon, good bye!”
And set down leaving the Moon to take over the sky
The moon rose higher into the air in the night,
And rested in silence until morning’s first light.
