Heartbreak by Jessica MacIntyre

Its a pain you hope to never experience. One you wish to never feel. One that haunts you day in and day out. Whether you realize it or not it does. Heartbreak.

You don’t see it coming. It just happens. Almost like a speeding train that hit the breaks too late.

It feels like your world has crumbled underneath your very feet. You feel frozen and stiff. Lost and confused.

The world seems darker. It seems to stop. You stop breathing momentarily. Trying to process it all.

You want to fall to your knees and cry. But you won’t. No matter how much it hurts. Not in front of them. But when you get back home you will.

You think “How could they?”, “Why did they do this to me?”, “Did they even love me?”.

Then all you feel is misery and pain. A part of you died. You lose interest in things. They were your world and now they’re gone. Just like that.

This isn’t the worst part.

The worst part is when you have to them be happy with someone else. When they still want to remain friends. When you hear about how well they’re doing. Seeing them smile because of this other person.

It’d make things easier if you didn’t have to see them or deal with them. But you can’t get the closure you want. You can’t live with them, but you also can’t live without them.

So you want to pretend it never happened. You lie and say everything is alright despite the fact that on the inside, you’re dying.
