Hobo Spaghetti by Robert Betts

By Robert Betts (Age: 63)

Boil one fistful of spaghetti or three handfuls of macaroni in a minimum of water. Drain. Add about a teaspoon of garlic powder and a tablespoon of butter, or in a pinch, cooking oil. Stir. Salt and pepper to taste. You can add a can of whatever you have. (Peas work well.) Stir again. Feeds one hungry man.

*Note: This recipe was one I used a lot when I lived on a boat in Florida. It also would be especially good for trips at sea. (Simplicity counts; there are few grocery stores in the middle of the oceans)

This sounds good. Think if you don’t mind I would like to send it to my daughter at college. Would be great for a student on a tight budget and sure beats my diet of macaroni and cheese and peanut butter. Would also make a great dish for camping trips.

😀 All it would take to feed me was a couple noodles and a glass of water. People think I’m anorexic or something, but I’m not! You know what some woman who was offering free samples of orange juice at the grocery store asked me when I made a face? “You’re on a diet, aren’t you?” I’m not, I just don’t like juice! Although, I must admit, I am pretty skinny. Hmm… maybe I should improve my diet. -_-‘ What am I rambling about? I still have homework to do! Argh, I don’t want to go to school tomorrow…

Hmm… spaghetti and macaroni go good together, right? I think I’ll add some peaches! Yum!!! Great recipe!

nah that recipe won’t fill a hungry man ( well it really depends on the person, personally it would take about 5 of those to fill me yet look at me! i’m still nice and slim!)I say that maybe a can of peas with speghetti isn’t exactly what i would call a perfect meal. hey if you know how to make lasagna, tell the kids that hate spinach that recipe with the spinach mixed in the cottage cheeze… that is the life greens or not
